Coming Out can be really hard, we know that. We all have different issues and situations to deal with while taking that giant step out of the closet. Certain subcultures and particular groups are known for their lack of positive 'out' role models, the macho world of Hip Hop being an obvious one. This is why we can't emphasise enough the importance of Frank Ocean's thank you letter which he recently published on his Tumblr page ahead of his debut album release. Question the timing, be suspicious of the short term motives  but do not deny that this man has the courage of a lion to reveal that his first relationship when he was 19 was with another man.

Now 24, with a critically aclaimed debut album about to chart highly in the US (and in the UK too no doubt) Frank has the world at his feet and a huge responsibility on his shoulders. No doubt he will face negativity from certain people who cannot accept his lifestyle but the world will be watching how he deals with it while supporting him all the way. Frank has done nothing more that what millions of people all over the world do by coming out, but he has taken the responsibility he has as a role model to his fans all over the world and put his duty first. We love Frank Ocean!
